A new heat wave is expected to blast Cyprus in the first week of August, according to forecasters.
The spike in temperatures will see the mercury rise to 40C. The heat wave will be sparked by a seasonal low pressure zone in the Mediterranean.
Humidity levels will also increase across much of the island.
The higher than average temperatures are expected to begin on Sunday and last till Wednesday.
Conditions should normalize by Thursday.
